![]() ![]() It’s the same game, only with much better lighting and improved textures. Right out the gate, I will say that if you absolutely loved Saints Row 3 the first time, you’re going to love this remaster. Read on for our Saints Row 3 Remastered review. As far as remasters go, it sure looks better unfortunately little else has been improved. However, nine years have passed and Deep Silver has seen fit to give it the remastered treatment and include all of the DLC. Quite a bit, however, I felt it leaned too far into science fiction and became, dare I say it, too over the top for me to enjoy it as much as Saints Row 2. That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy Saints Row The Third when it released in 2011, I did. I am decidedly and emphatically in the former. Let me get this out of the way in case you’re wondering. If they deliver it might be the best since SR2 for me.There are two kinds of people: those that prefer Saints Row 2 and those that prefer Saints Row The Third (also known as Saints Row 3). It seems like they're aiming for a middle ground between SR2&3, and everything they've shown so far seems great to me. I have a lot of high hopes for the new game. It feels like an empty playground for superpowers, with a narrative bolted n afterwards to justify a numbered release. The game was originally envisioned as a DLC and it feels like that. After that narrative missions are threadbare, there's only one faction and almost all of the cutscenes are just voiceovers playing over b-roll. All of the money was clearly spent on the opening mission. The biggest thing that hit me replaying SR4 was how cheap the game felt. ![]() SR3 was fun but it lost some of its identity in gimmickry and dated sex jokes. The perfect balance of drama and satire, all tied together with the best (and most psychotic) characterisation for the Boss. That game really captured something special and scratches an itch that the other games just don't. Not sure what that's about, but I got it since it was on sale and I noticed some SR characters were DLC Should probably play it, since I bought it on sale a while back. Like, cars don't have a reason to exist when you can use superspeed to go everywhere. Stillwater saints row 2 map full#I understand why it turned out the way it did (it was supposed to just be SR3 DLC, but THQ bleeding money at the time forced it into a full game) but I don't like how the new mechanics obsolete all of the existing systems in SR3. I still like SR3's story, but the gameplay is what's made me replay SR3 multiple times.ĭon't care for SR4. Stillwater saints row 2 map ps2#Reminds me a lot of playing the GTA PS2 games with cheats on, except that you don't need to cheat, it's all part of the campaign. The game also gives you fun and cool stuff to do at a way better pace than most open world games IMO. The fast car hijacking mechanic alone makes it superior to SR2 (and also most other open world games). SR3 has a weaker open world but I think it's so much better in the moment-to-moment gameplay. SR2 probably has the better open world and side activities, but I've never replayed SR2 because of the terrible controls and the story ![]()
